I’m Soren Gisleson, a partner at Herman, Katz, Gisleson & Cain (HKGC) in New Orleans. I represent individuals and communities in personal injury, mass tort, insurance disputes, and clergy sex abuse cases.
I am a partner at Herman, Katz, Gisleson & Cain (HKGC), serving clients from our office in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since joining the firm in 2000, I’ve represented people in personal injury and wrongful death cases, complex mass torts, insurance disputes, and survivors of clergy sex abuse in Louisiana. I am licensed in Louisiana and regularly appear before both state and federal courts.
For survivors of clergy abuse, I have worked extensively with clients to assert their claims, navigate court deadlines, and pursue fair compensation. This includes representing survivors in matters involving the Archdiocese of New Orleans and other Louisiana dioceses, where the bankruptcy process requires coordinated filings, negotiation with insurers, and court approval of settlements.
I follow a straightforward approach to practicing law. I prepare every case as if it’s going to trial, keep clients informed at every stage, and fight for fair outcomes. Whether it’s a single event injury, institutional abuse, or litigation involving thousands of claimants, I focus on building strong cases supported by clear facts and thorough preparation.
I serve individuals, families, and communities facing life-changing losses. My work has included hurricane insurance claims, the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill litigation, large-scale antitrust cases, and clergy sexual abuse claims. You can reach me directly at 504-581-4892 to discuss your case.
Before joining HKGC, I earned my law degree from Loyola University School of Law, where I served as articles editor for the Loyola Law Review, and my bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I clerked for Judge Carl J. Barbier in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
